Sometimes time stops, and it is as if all things in front of our eyes suddenly become more present than ever, leaving us with an intense awareness of the moment.
An archeologist of the present pins up all the objects he’s found on the street within three blocks of where he lives. What are these objects? Do they have a brand-name? What materials are they made out of? Can the erosion or destruction of these objects tell us something? Is it possible to define a particular moment in our lives by looking at the things that, day after day, pass through our hands?
Do all these things we use daily say something about us?
In Miami, men construct and live the present against the impiety of the sun, the wind, and the marsh.
